Quick answer: Terrace Chrysler handles winter tire changeovers, tire rotations, balancing and tire replacement for every Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram. In BC, winter tires are required on Highway 16 from October 1 to April 30 (March 31 west of Terrace). Book online, by text or at 250-635-7187, Monday to Friday.
Winter tires on in the fall, summer or all-season tires back on in the spring.
Moving tires between positions so they wear evenly. On a 4x4, even wear front to rear matters to the drivetrain.
Wheels balanced so the steering wheel and seat stay smooth at highway speed.
Pressures set for the vehicle and load, and tire pressure sensors checked so the warning light stays off.
Tread depth, uneven wear, sidewall cuts and punctures checked at every swap.
Winter, all-season, all-terrain and LT truck tires ordered for your model and how you use it.
Most BC highways, including Highway 16 through Terrace and Highway 37 toward Kitimat, require winter tires or chains from October 1 to April 30. On some coastal routes, including Highway 16 west of Terrace toward Prince Rupert, the requirement ends March 31.
A tire counts as a winter tire if it has the three-peak mountain and snowflake symbol, or the M+S mark, with at least 3.5 mm of tread. The mountain and snowflake tire is the one that grips in real cold, so that is what we recommend.
A Ram 2500 or 3500 runs LT tires with a load range suited to what it hauls. Replacing them with a lighter passenger tire saves money and costs capacity. We match the load range to your truck.
A heavy-duty truck often needs different pressures empty and loaded. Check the placard on the door jamb, and adjust before you hitch up.
Many all-terrain tires on Wranglers, Gladiators and Ram 1500s carry the mountain and snowflake symbol. Many do not. Check the sidewall before you assume your tires are winter-rated.
A 4x4 or all-wheel-drive system expects all four tires to be the same size and close in wear. Mismatched tires make the drivetrain work against itself.
Winter, all-season, all-terrain and LT truck tires, ordered for your vehicle.
Below about 7 degrees Celsius, summer and all-season rubber hardens and loses grip. Winter tires stay soft and use their tread pattern to bite into snow and slush. In Terrace that covers months of the year, not just the snowy days.
Four-wheel drive helps you get going. It does not help you stop or turn. The tires do that, which is why a 4x4 on winter tires is safer than a 4x4 on all-seasons.
We handle tire service for every Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram, from new models to trucks bought somewhere else.
